Our Bodies

This week we learned about our bodies and what different things in our bodies do. They had a lot of fun making life size people with their inside body parts we have learned about! We looked at the patterns in numbers and they learned how to write beyond 10. They picked it up quickly and did awesome!! They are learning so much! Next week we will continue to talk about bodies and also learn about our five senses. We will continue to work with our numbers and shapes and start to work with 10's frames. Below is a picture of the kids from our class that wore their favorite hat to school today. Also, check out the video they made about what they learned.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

This week the class has really showed me that they are getting in to the swing of things and have the routines down. They know what to do, when to do it, and work hard. It is awesome!! This week we talked about families. Each student got the chance to tell about their own family. We talked about how families can be different and what people can make up a family. They worked on graphing, number writing, recognizing numbers, counting, and learned about the tricky teens this week. We have been focusing on retelling stories, so this week they re-enacted Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Watch the video below. It was a lot of fun and they did great! Also below are a couple of pictures of their families they created and a couple of students using their bodies to make the letters we learned this week. The newsletter for next week is attached on the right side of the page. Next week we will talk about our bodies, how they work, and what is inside of our bodies.

We are a classroom of friends!

This week we talked about friends and what makes a good friend. We talked about how we are a classroom of friends that works together and helps one another. They learned three more letter sounds this week, so now they know seven. Next week they will learn three more. With the letters that they have learned they have started sounding out words! We now have five words on our Word Wall to use in our writing: am, I, is, me, and the. They are learning so much! We had a blast on our Freedom Walk. Check out the pictures below. Also, check out the video of what they learned this week. Next week we will talk about families.
