Look What We Have Learned

This week we read our first KinderRoots story and it went great! The students read with their partners and read together as a whole class. Next week we will move on to the next book. They finished learning the alphabet chant and the video of it is below. We worked on addition, 2-D and 3-D shapes, number writing, and creating shapes this week. Below are some pictures of some designs they created after they were done building shapes. Next week we will begin to talk about the season of winter and the weather. We have lots of fun activities. Gobble, Gobble

We had a fun two days reviewing our letter sounds and doing Thanksgiving activities. Below are some pictures from the week. Attached on the right is the Newsletter for next week. Letter Sound Celebration!

This week the students learned the last two letter sounds q and x. Now they know them all!! This week we also started to work on number stories and addition. Next week we will review the letter sounds and have a lot of fun Thanksgiving activities to do. Check out our letter sounds celebration below!

The Food Groups

This week the students learned about the food groups. We talked about healthy and unhealthy foods. We talked about how our bodies need healthy food for energy. Next week we will continue talking about the food groups and also talk about where food comes from. They learned five new letter sounds/chunks this week. Next week they will learn the last two letter sounds!! Check out the video below to see some of the things they learned this week.

Happy Halloween!!

This week we had a lot of fun doing halloween, scarecrow, pumpkin, and apple activities! With these activities they were able to practice their letter sound skills, sounding out skills, and different math skills. Next week we will resume the curriculum by learning about the different food groups and healthy foods. Below are a couple of pictures from the week and a video from Halloween.
